Activities for Survivors & Those Living with MBC

This event is a celebration of the strength and resilience of survivors and all people living with metastatic breast cancer. We honor these members of our community at:

Hope Village | 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

All survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer and a guest are invited to the Hope Village tent to enjoy snacks, refreshments, and other activities. Survivors and metastatic thrivers only will receive a swag bag of goodies donated by sponsors. Nurses from Hackensack Meridian Health will hand out beads for each year of survivorship.

Pathway of Hope Procession Line-up | 8:15 a.m.

All survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will walk, united, into our Opening Ceremony.

Your Event T-shirt

All registered breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will receive a special event shirt to recognize your special place in our event. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on event morning, you must register by Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

Activities for Top Fundraisers & Teams

Susan G. Komen’s work would not be possible without our fundraisers. It is our honor to recognize those fundraisers who go above and beyond with their efforts and support – our Top Individuals and Top Teams. 

Top Fundraisers – Individuals who raise $1,000+

On event morning, follow the Top Fundraiser signs to the area reserved just for you! You’ll be gifted a special Top Fundraiser item to help you stand apart from the crowd, and we invite you to pop in and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks provided by generous local partners. 

Your Walk T-shirt

All top fundraisers will earn this year’s commemorative event shirt. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on Walk morning, you must have raised your first $100 by Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

Top Teams – Teams who raise $2,500+

Every team that raises $2,500 or more will receive a tent and table in our Top Teams area. We encourage our top teams to bring snacks, drinks and items to share with team members.

Local T-Shirt Details

We are now mailing all shirts for $100+ fundraisers, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer. In order to receive your shirt in time for Walk day*, you must register and/or fundraise $100+ by . Survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer who register, and participants who raise $100, after will receive your shirt(s) by mail after the event. The final cut-off date for participants to raise $100 and receive a shirt is .

*Shirts are being mailed via USPS. As with any shipping provider, delays may occur.

Please note: there will be no t-shirts available for pick up either pre-event or on event day. Thank you for your commitment to Susan G. Komen and our efforts to simplify our t-shirt process.

How long is the Walk?

The will be 2 miles in length, or you may choose to walk our shorter 1 mile route.

Getting to the Event and Parking

Parking is located on site and is FREE for everyone! We encourage our participants to arrive early. The parking lot opens at 7:00 AM. No passes are needed to access the Walk Day site and/or to park.

Walk day parking will be in the Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Overflow lots and is FREE until 9 AM. If going into the theme park afterwards, participants will need to move their vehicles to the main entrance lot.

Are strollers allowed at the event?

Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!

Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?

No, for the safety of event participants/due to local regulations, only service animals will be allowed at the event.

What is the deadline for fundraising?

All donations on your behalf that are received through at 11:59 p.m. CT will be credited to your fundraising total and will be eligible for fundraising incentives.
